Which group does the most damage control?

Monday, November 10th, 2008

I`m a Sheep, so I obviously won`t vote for my fellow Nintendo fans. Though, I do believe that a lot of the Nintendo fans are usually the most calm on System Wars.

Which group of console gamers has the most ammo to take over SW`s ?

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Not giving anyone idea`s lol, just for fun

Anyway by ammo I mean bragging rights; you know sales, reliability, features, AAA titles, legacy, innovative ideas, particular game, online etc etc etc

So is it PS3 gamers or 360 gamers or maybe Wii gamers who can take over System Wars ? Decide

Muslim group criticizes LittleBigPlanet recall screenshot

WhenLittleBigPlanet was recalleddue to a backing track referencing The Qur`an, a few of our more level-headed readers were quick to share such pearls of wisdom as “blank Islam.” It`s true that a handful of Muslims got offended by the music on the Sony forums, but in the caseof at least one Islamic group, the recall of the game is more offensive than the Qur`an reference.

M. Zuhdi Jasser, M.D., president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy stated that freedom of speech was important, even if he might personally disagree with what is being said. He also suggested that other Muslims who believe in tolerance and freedom think the same way.

“Muslims cannot benefit from freedom of expression and religion and then turn around and ask that anytime their sensibilities are offended that the freedom of others be restricted.

The free market allows for expression of disfavor by simply not purchasing a game that may be offensive.

…To demand that [the game] be withdrawn is predicated on a society which gives theocrats who wish to control speech far more value than the central principle of freedom of expression upon which the very practice and freedom of religion is based.

The fact that the music writer is a devout Muslim should highlight that at the core of this issue is not about offending `all Muslims,` but only about freedom of expression and the free market.”

Jasser has his head screwed on, and I really couldn`t agree with him more. It applies to everyone, not just Muslims. We enjoy the benefits of free speech and democracy, but a worrying amoung of us want to do away with those benefits once we see or hear something we don`t like. That kind of societal double standard needs to stop.

What game would you use to represent gaming to a group of mature people?

What game would you use to represent gaming to a group of mature people?

I personally would use one of these 3:

Medieval 2: Total War. This is game has extremely large scale strategyon both a tactical and stragetic level, and looks great. Although I`d choose Empires: Total War if it was out.

Mass Effect: This game has a great story, is very well designed (minus those elevators) and also looks great.

Half Life 2 + EP 1-3: These games are argueably the best FPS games ever made. Certainly they are some of the most story driven and well designed/balanced. I know EP3 is at least 2 years away, but do you really expect it to flop?

What are your choices?

Group MMOs?

Friday, November 7th, 2008

I`m not that experience with MMOs. I played Runescape as my first… left at a low level and went to World of Warcraft. I played World of Wsrcraft before and feel like leaving it again because I keep dieing and no one wants to group. Its also boring with no one to talk to or work with, I hate playing alone. Please not my computer my computer is kinda weak and I can`t be on a MMO all day every day. Suggestions?

And from what I heard about endgame raiding, It doesn`t sound like something I would want to do. I`m just talking about good old grind with friends not having to solo then go to a pick up group and go through a stressful episode of finding a good raiding guild. I was thinking of Everquest but I`m afraid it may be too time consuming. Should I just get Diablo 2 instead?

who wants to join a get together netflix weekend group???

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

so as we all may know, we can (when the new update comes) invite people to watch our movies and vice versa…and its` also a GROUP thing

so i was thinking…we could make this big group and every weekend take turns renting movies from netflix or whereever else…one weekend i rent a movie, next weekend you, next another guy…until it`s back to me

this would be a great way to really make new friends and such AND save us all money in the long run

what do you guys think?
