seriously.. Sony is so close to locking down this gen its not even funny.. All they need to do is just drop the 40 GB all together and keep the MGS4 PS3 bundle and lower the price to $349.99 and i guarantee that it will be the top selling console month after month! Yes even outselling the Wii with flying colors!! Throw in that bluetooth headset included with every 80 GB modeland they will be set all gen! Heck that PS3 bundle could last all gen for the next several years.. The MGS brand is so timeless and represents the playstation brand so well that they could keep that 80 GB SKU for the next several years to come

There so many loop holes and exploits to not paying, I don`t see whats the big deal is. Been rocking a silver account for a while now, haven`t payed in the last couple of months and still get 98% of all features.

One exploit is recreating XBL account after expiration. So you lose gamerpoints and achievements…well its not like you had those to begin with on PSN right?

I`m just talking to those PSN users that can`t coup with 4/month deal.

Seriously. I don`t see why people say otherwise. Ever go into a store. These are the prices. There`s no debate, it`s this. Well I guess the arcade 360 ($280) has everything you need, but seriously- why do people ever say otherwise.

According to the IGN and Forbes articles Sony is in the “poor house” after loosing billions on the PS3 and GTA IV and MGS 4 not selling consoles like they had hoped they would. Seriously, I can`t believe xbox lovers think XBL is worth the price.

What do you get with XBL that you can`t get on PSN? Movies? Big deal! Ever hear of Blu-ray? lol

And then you have to pay for dumb gamerpics, themes, demos, and then you have to pay to unlock gimicky achievements! Lol.

With PSN, you get that all for free. We don`t have achievements yet, but we will be getting trophies soon. So we`ll get that “win the game” but we`ll actually get a 3d thing for it instead of just points. And it`s free! 2.4 will blow away XBL (and we won`t even have hoe yet). You have in game XMB. You have to pay for that with the xbox. And you can actually do stuff with it! And we actually have great online games to play unlike the 360. There`s Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, HOME, Metal Gear Online (best multiplayer game ever) and then GT5.

And on top of that, we have the best games coming out soon. This year alone, we`ve got Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Home, Infamous, Little Big Planet, GT5 and Resident Evil 5 all completely exclusive to the PS3!

What`s the point of owning a 360? I don`t see one.

Its no secret that Microsoft will be administering a 50 dollar price cut to the Xbox 360 pro. This will make it 299.99 as of July 6th.

So my question to you fellow PS3ites, is what can Sony do to respond to such a price cut?

My personal opinion- Sony needs a bluetooth headset. to be bundled with all ps3s Come on Sony where`s the headset at? Finally, add software emulation via firmware update. Ba-bang- momentum stopped.

as the article says, sony is losing so much money because the console is now priced under the production cost, so sony may not have much breathing room left

M$ does have room for a price cut and they are now tyring to close in on the wii`s price which is still selling like hotcakes

but the question is…is the wii selling so well because of the affordable price? or is it because of the innovation?

if it is the price and the 360 closes in on the wii`s afforadable price and it starts selling like hotcakes, then sony and potentially nintendo could be in a world of hurt

but if sony does answer back, not much will change, but can they afford to lose anymore money???

well IMO i would LOVE for sony to lower the price of the PS3, i really wanna get one soon along with MGS4, so a price cut would be in my favor for sure

Looks like the price cut is for real.

Though it will have some effect, a 249.99 Pro would have made a much more sense.

WTH MS - for 249.99, I would pick another one up for my bedroom.

Would make the already impressive 2008 software sales look meager by the beginning of 2009.

The sales would be through the roof.

PS: Just Drop the Arcade all together and go right to the 199.99 Pro !

Thoughts ?

The beans may already have been spilled by Kmart, but now another store has briefly emerged from retail obsolescence to spread the legend of the $50 Xbox 360 price cut. A Radio Shack employee recently mailed us the evidence, some scans of what they claim is an upcoming ad set to take effect on July 13 (same as the Kmart ad).

As you can see, the ad purports that we`re going to be seeing the 20GB system at $299.99 in the middle of next month. Though it`s far from official, the price cut`s presence in two flyers would appear to make a Kmart printing mix-up quite a bit less likely. Let us know if you see more evidence.
